How much do authors earn on Great Novels?
Authors keep 50% of the revenue their books generate on Great Novels, paid out regularly. The more readers your stories attract and the more they read, the more you earn.
Who can publish on Great Novels?
Both new and established authors are welcome. You don't need to have been published before. If you write engaging serialized romance, fantasy, or thriller fiction, we'd love to see it. Finished books and ongoing series are both a great fit.
What kinds of books are you looking for?
We're actively growing our library across romance and fantasy: dark romance, enemies to lovers, billionaire and CEO romance, mafia, werewolf and shifter, paranormal, mystery and thriller, and more. If your story fits a binge-worthy romance or fantasy niche, it belongs on Great Novels.
Do I create my own covers and descriptions?
Yes. You create your own covers and book descriptions, so you stay in control of how your story is presented. If you'd prefer not to design a cover yourself, we can help create one for you. Before a title goes live, our team runs a quick review to make sure covers and descriptions meet store guidelines. We mainly check that artwork is non-explicit and safe for the App Store and Google Play, and that descriptions are accurate. It's a light, fast check, not a rewrite.
Do I keep the rights to my work?
Yes. You keep full ownership and copyright of your work. By publishing on Great Novels you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, format, display, distribute, and promote your book within the app and our services, including your cover, short excerpts, and pen name for promotion. We never sell or sub-license your work to third parties. Rights such as film, audio, translation, and print stay entirely yours. The full details are in our Terms of Use.
Can I also publish my book on other platforms?
Yes. Our licence is non-exclusive, so you're free to publish the same story on other platforms or your own channels. You can also ask us to remove your book from Great Novels. A 30-day notice period applies so that readers who have purchased access have time to finish reading before it comes down.
How and when do I get paid?
You earn 50% of the revenue your books generate, paid out on a regular schedule. We don't offer advance payments. Your earnings are purely a share of your books' sales, with no cap on how much you can make. We share the exact payment details and schedule with you during onboarding once your application is approved.
